We are a Quantum Information Theory research group based @ UNIST, Korea.

Our group investigates the foundational structure of quantum mechanics through the lens of quantum information theory. We critically examine whether the standard formalism can satisfactorily model information-processing tasks that lie beyond traditional paradigms. By placing mathematical rigor at the core of our approach, we develop frameworks that apply in the most general settings — unbound by the customary divisions between physics and mathematics. This allows us to traverse both foundational questions and practical applications, making quantum information theory a uniquely fertile ground for discovery.

We welcome highly motivated students and researchers with strong backgrounds in theoretical physics, mathematics, or theoretical computer science who are passionate about uncovering the deep structure of quantum theory. Located at the crossroads of physics and mathematics, our group spends its days rigorously reading and proving theorems about quantum‐theoretic formalisms—unlike the typical scope of a theoretical physics lab. Success here demands not only the analytical acumen to read and write intricate mathematical proofs, but also a solid intuition for physical principles, so you can identify and tackle problems of genuine practical and foundational importance. If you thrive on mathematical rigor and are driven to explore the frontiers of quantum information, we’d love to hear from you.
